Course

An out-&-back course that starts and finishes at Wilket Creek Park (part of Sunnybrook Park). The route is mostly on flat, paved paths through the park system.

Finisher Memento

All finishers in the 8k and 5k will receive an exclusive finisher’s medal from Foxy Originals.

Is the race “chip” timed?

Yes, we use the MYLAPS BibTag timing system provided by Sportstats.

Is there a time limit for the 8k?

Yes, the time limit is 80 minutes for completing the 8k. After that time, the finish line will be dismantled.

Can anyone cross the finish line?

No, only registered participants wearing a race bib will be allowed to cross the finish line.

Are walkers allowed?

Yes, walkers can participate. There is no designated walker category nor awards for walkers. Walking participants will receive a finisher’s medal and race kit.

Can men participate?

Yes, men can show their support by running in the race. But sorry guys, there are no awards for your categories and we ask that you do not cross the finish line before the first woman runner.

Can kids participate?

Yes. However, please note the following age requirements: to participate in the half marathon, the minimum age is 16 years and to participate in the 10k and 5k, the minimum age is 6 years. Anyone under the age of 13 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Is registration capped?

Yes, the race is capped at 750 for the 8k and 750 for the 5k.

Can I wear my earbuds/headphones during the run?

Yes, you can wear wear earbuds or headphones but please keep the volume low so that you are aware of runners around you and that you can hear the instructions given by our course marshals.

Do you need volunteers? How can I sign up to volunteer?

Yes, we need a number of volunteers to help us make the event a success. Please click here and our Volunteer Manager will contact you directly.

What is the charitable cause?

Are there incentive prizes?

Can I participate with a baby jogger or stroller?

No. For safety reasons, baby joggers and strollers are not permitted due to the narrow width of the paths within the park system.

Where are good places for us to go on the course to cheer on runners?
  • Behind the Science Centre – take Eglinton Avenue East to Don Mills Road, go south/right down to the lights at Gateway Blvd., turn right, park at bottom of hill and walk 50 m over to the paved path.
  • At the Firefighters Water Station (directly underneath the Overlea Bridge) – this is accessible off of Thorncliffe Park Road.
What is a virtual race?

A virtual race can be completed on your own from any location you choose, on the day that you choose, at your own pace. You can run, jog, or walk on a road, on a trail, or on a treadmill. You can do the race outside or inside.

Is there a specific day/time I need to run?

With the virtual race you can select any date/time between October 23 – November 6, 2021 to complete your distance.

When will I receive my race kit if I am in the virtual race?

You will receive your exclusive Toronto Women’s running toque, finisher medal and race bib in the mail. If you registered before October 8, 2021 your race kit will be shipped beginning the week of October 11. If you registered after October 8 your race kit will be sent out to you within two weeks of your registration date. Please ensure the address you provided on your registration form is current and accurate as that is the address we will use when we mail you your race kit. To edit your mailing address, please log in to your participant dashboard and update accordingly.

Do I have to upload my virtual race results?

No, you don’t have to upload your results at all.

WHAT APP or program do I need to upload my results?

If you wish to upload you results you can use several fitness trackers including: RunKeeper, Strava, Map My Run, Garmin and more! It is really easy to upload your results on our results page on Race Roster. Details on how to upload your results will be emailed to you race week.

What if I don’t have a Fitness Tracker/App and I still want to upload my results?

No problem, you can enter your result based on the honour system.

Are there awards in the in-person 5k or virtual races?

For these races, we will not be offering awards.

What is the minimum age to participate in the in-person race or the virtual race?

As all participants in the in-person need to be double vaccinated, the minimum age to participate is 12. For those interested in the virtual race, kids aged 6 years and over can participate in the 8k or 5k as long as they are in a safe environment.
