Toronto Women’s Run Series
As we continue to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines mandated by the province of Ontario and Toronto Public Health, at this time we can confirm that the 2021 season for the Toronto Women’s Run Series will be composed of three virtual race offerings and our 416 Run Challenge events.
A virtual run means you complete your race distance on your own and can run anytime, anywhere, keeping in mind the practice of physical distancing. This way, we can all stay safe and still stay fit and active while we work toward #flatteningthecurve.
Registration is now open for all of our races. We kick off the season with our virtual Half Marathon/10k/5k race and invite you to join us anytime between May 23 – June 6, 2021. Registration is also open for the virtual 10k/5k event from August 14 to August 28, 2021 and we wrap up the season at the virtual 8k/5k race from October 23 – Nov. 6, 2021.
If we are able to safely come together and offer any in-person races in the 2021 season, those already entered in the virtual race will be given the choice to transfer their registration to the in-person race if desired. An important note – if you deferred your 2020 race entry to 2021, we will e-mailing you directly with more details on how you will be able to manage your registration.
We have launched an exciting series of Challenge events – the 416 Run Challenge, the 416 Run Challenge GOLD and the 416 Run Challenge for students. This exciting virtual run/walk event can be done anytime, anywhere to keep you active, moving and to keep challenging yourself. It encourages women around the world to set their own pace and complete a 416 kilometre journey on your own, with training partners or as part of our virtual community. When you have completed your 416 Run Challenge, you are then ready for our GOLD Challenge to reach a grand total of 832 kilometres!
We are looking forward to the time when we will all be able to safely come together to run/walk through beautiful Sunnybrook Park and our surrounding park system at one of Toronto’s most popular race series and one of the largest women’s race series in the country. But until then, don’t let anything stop you from setting your own pace, keeping active, and staying connected with this amazing race community.
We continue to support our long-term charitable partner, the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) by setting our fundraising goal of $40,000 to help for kids and their families living with cancer. We hope you will join us on our journey to make this happen.
Thousands of women joined us for our virtual events in 2020 and continued to set and reach amazing personal goals. We’re here to support you to do the same in the upcoming season at one of our virtual races or in the 416 Run Challenge events. Whether you choose to make your goals fun, inspiring, recreational or competitive, know that you will have a huge community of fellow runners or walkers who are training and participating right alongside you in their own virtual way!
We are so glad to welcome you – or welcome you back – to the 2021 virtual Toronto Women’s Run Series and 416 Run Challenge events!
