10k/5k Frequently Asked Questions

    • 8:00am – 10k
    • 8:15 – 5k
  • Entry Fee includes a limited edition Toronto Women’s specific technical running shirt, a great race kit, a finisher medal and access to our great post race party
  • Is the race “chip” timed? Yes, we use the MyLap bibtag timing system provided by Sportstats
  • Are walkers allowed? Yes, walkers are encouraged to participate. There is not a walkers category nor do we give age group awards for walkers, but all finishers’ receive a finisher medal and race kit.
  • Is there a time limit? Yes, the time limit is 1 hour and 40 minutes to complete the 10k
  • Can kids participate? Yes, but they must be registered. The minimum age for participation is 6 years and anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Can anyone cross the finish line? No, only registered participants wearing a race bib will be allowed to cross the finish line
  • Are there finisher medals? Yes, everyone who finishes the race gets a medal
  • Is registration capped? Yes, the race is capped at 1,000 participants
  • Course: The route starts and finishes at Wilket Creek Park in Sunnybrook Park. The route is on flat, paved paths.
  • Can I wear my headphones during the run? Ideally not, however if you do wear them, please ensure that the volume is low enough to hear any instructions given to you by our course marshals and that you are aware of others around you.
  • Can guys run? Yes, men can show their support by running in the race, but sorry guys, there are no awards and we ask that you don’t cross the finish line before the first woman crosses the finish line.
  • Do you need volunteers? How can I sign up to volunteer? Yes, we need a number of volunteers to help us make the event a success. Join our Volunteer Team
  • What is the charitable cause? Our charitable partner is POGO (Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario).                     Click here for more info.
  • Are there incentive prizes? If you fundraise for POGO and reach the various levels, you are eligible for the prize.   Click here for more info.
  • Where are good places for us to go on the course to cheer on runners?
    1. Behind the Science Centre take Eglinton east to Don Mills, go south or right down to the lights at Gateway Blvd., turn right, park at bottom of hill and walk 50m over to paved path.
    2. At the firefighters water station directly underneath the Overlea Bridge. This is accessible off of Thornecliffe Park Road.
